Sonia R. Miller ~ May 1, 2022

Avon: At age 81, Sonia passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Noyes Hospital in Dansville, NY. She was born in Rochester, NY to the late Grover and Rose Miller. Sonia is predeceased by her son; William “Billy” P. Cook III and her brother Herb Miller. Survived by her children; Debbie Schunk, Steven Arner, Wendy Meehan and Tracy Hamza, her brothers; Ronnie Miller and Grover “Gus” Miller, her 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

  1. I’m so sorry for you loss. Sonia was also a neighbor in Geneseo, and in recent years Avon. I had the pleasure of visiting with her often while in Geneseo, when I use to cut her hair. Those visits always began with a great cup of coffee, and conversation about our families. I truly enjoyed those times spent with her.
    When she learned of my oldest son’s passing, she was one of the first to give me a hug and offer her support. She will not be forgotten!

  3. I’m so sorry. Pretty sure she was the only person Billy (affectionately) was scared of. 😉 But I know he loved her even more.

  6. Les and I were sorry to hear of Sonia’s passing. We were neighbors when our children were young and had wonderful times together. Our thoughts and prayers to her family. Our fond memories will always be with us. Sonia was a special lady.

  8. I am so saddened by her passing. Our lives connected many times over the past 40 years. We worked together at Pizza Hut, were neighbors in Geneseo and co-workers at Kraft. She was a wonderful person who always had a smile and a laugh to share. My deepest sympathies to all who loved Sonia .

  11. I’m so sorry to learn this. I remember Sonia from LCS as well as for watching our children after school. She was a very caring person and I’m so sorry for your loss.

  15. We are so saddened to hear this. We have known Sonia for over 50 years, and we used to be so close when our kids were little. We visited each other and had coffee while our kids played. We didn’t see her a lot the last few years, even though she lived very close…..our lives get so busy. We send loving thoughts and prayers to her family…….RIP Sonia…..
