Irene B. Riley – February 12, 2022

Livonia:  At age 82, Irene passed peacefully on February 12, 2022 at the Teresa House in Geneseo, NY.  She was born on September 30, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Borger and Mildred (Urgalis) Borgersen.  In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Robert Borgersen.  Survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald Riley and children; Clifton Woodford of FL, Terri (Fredi) Bauert of NC, Laurie (Bruce Cauder) Woodford of OK, and Donna (Doug) Sheesley of Greece; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Irene graduated from Schodack High School in 1957 and furthered her education with her nursing degree.  She was a registered nurse at St. John’s Home in Rochester, NY for many years.  Family and friends were always very important to Irene.

    Thinking of you all and asking “The God of all comfort” to uphold you in His infinite and personal embrace, addressing your innermost needs.

    We recall fond times with you eons ago (1970’s/80’s), still caring about how you’re doing in this current wild world.

  2. Hugs to all of you!! I have such fond and fun memories of time spent at your home. Many laughs with Mrs Riley and learning you need to have applesauce with pork chops. She allowed me to use her car, a green Dodge Dart to take my road test in. If she hadn’t I would not have been able to get that done. I remember her lovely laugh and hugs she freely gave to me.
    I pray that the Lord blesses you all with peace that passes all understanding during your journey of learning to live without her around. May the hole that you feel in your hearts be filled with the happy memories you have shared.

    I am sorry to learn of Irene’s passing. I remember when we were both going
    through cancer seeing you at Borg & Ide a few years ago. I offer you my sincere
    condolences. I hope you find your balance looking to the Lord to guide your

  5. I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Riley’s passing. Growing up, she was like a second mom to me. I have many happy memories from dpending time at the Woodford/Riley home. My deepest confolences to the family.
