Nancy A. VanDerMeid ~ December 4, 2021

Livonia: At age 89, Nancy passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. She was born in Rochester, NY to the late Carl and Beatrice Price. Nancy is predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years Jack H. VanDerMeid and her sister Gail West. Survived by her children; Stephen (Deanna) VanDerMeid, Karen Coleman, her grandson John Coleman (Rachel Zimmermann), her nephews, David (Sue) West, Michael (Shari) West, Richard (Carolyn) West, her niece, Debbie (Mark) Moran, along with several friends.

After graduating high school, Nancy met the love of her life, Jack VanDerMeid and they married in 1956. Karen was welcomed into the world in 1959. Nancy went on to pursue her passion for taking care of others by completing her education at MCC in nursing. She was a Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Floor at Strong Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years. Outside of work Nancy loved to travel and garden in her back yard. But she loved nothing more than her family.

A Funeral Service will take place at 11AM on Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Lakeville United Church of Christ, 5687 Big Tree Rd, Lakeville, NY 14480. Interment will immediately follow Nancy’s funeral service at Union Cemetery on Big Tree Road in Livonia, NY.   8. I am so sad to heard about Nancy’s passing. She was such a wonderful lady, always with a smile. I always smiled when I walked by their house on Main Street. She will be missed on earth, but is enjoying a family reunion with her sister, Jack and so many other family members that have passed before her. You are in my prayers during this time .   14. So sorry to hear about Nancy’s passing. We loved walking over to visit with her. My daughter, Natalie loved to come over to sit with her to do a puzzle, have milk & cookies with her, or bring her flowers to cheer her up during COVID. Nancy will be missed terribly. She was a very wonderful lady!

  16. Nancy was a member of the “Livonia Lit Circle”, our local book study club, where she often hosted interesting discussions about a range of subjects. She was always friendly, thoughtful, and kind and concerned about her friends. She will be missed!

  22. I am sad to hear of Nancy’s passing. I lived on Spring Street when I was very young and I remember Nancy and her sister lived on lower Big Tree near the post office.
    I believe Nancy worked at the post office when I was very young.

    She always had a smile and a warm hello.
