Conesus: At age 76, Susan passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home in Perry, NY. She was born in Rochester, NY to the late William and June Fleig. Survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, Clarence “Lucky” Travis, her daughters; June (Mark) Brewer, Joy Glover, Nicolle (Joe) Day, Karla Hoad, her grandchildren; Garrett Day, Alivia Day, Logan Hoad, Liam Hoad, and her sister, Elizabeth Rogers, along with her nephew Michael Rogers.

It has taken some time to be able to put into words what Susan had given me. Always such a forward thinker and positive person. I have been so very blessed to have been a friend of yours and Lucky’s. The reality that in life we always are crossing the paths of the people we need at the time. What an incredible horsewoman. Susan and Lucky taught me some of the most important things. Every time I work with a horse I will always feel a little closer to you.

I shall so miss our barn talks about so many things: how our ‘things’ that we just set down seemed to disappeared into the 5th dimension, about horses in our lives present & past, about the little critters that made the barn their home for a short while (of course you named them all), you stood with me and chatted while I cared for Sam’s wounds after his surgery, our discussions of life and even our discussion of death. You once told me that death was like taking off shoes that were too tight. I know that you are now walking barefoot in the tall grass along side your Moose and Shammy. Lucky, I shall be talking to you soon.
