Leonard J. Peri “Lenny” ~ December 27, 2020

Rush, NY:  At age 72, Lenny passed on December 27, 2020 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.  He was born on May 5, 1948 to the late Leonard and Alice (Sweeney) Peri.  He was also predeceased by his brother John Peri.  Survived by his wife, Pamela (Klage) Peri and children; Christine (Peri) Lippa of Henrietta and Scott (Allison) Peri of Livonia; grandchildren, Carli Lippa, Lindsay Lippa, Ty Lippa, AJ Peri, and Gabby Peri; siblings, James (Donna) Peri of Geneseo and Margaret Peri of Batavia.  Also survived by many other loving family and friends.

Lenny graduated from Geneseo High School in 1966 and later went on to work at the salt mine then known as the International Salt Company.  In 1968 he married Pamela (Klage) Peri and they were married for 52 years.  Lenny was drafted into the US Army in 1968 and served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1970.  After leaving the Army, he took his skill set and went to work for IBM, working there for over 30 years.  Lenny loved being a husband, father, and grandfather. He was a talented musician and played many local events in the popular bands Euphoria and The Generations.  Lenny was an active member in the Geneseo VFW, and also enjoyed doing his wood working, deer hunting, coaching youth sports, and playing golf.  He took pride in his well kept yard as well.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, January 6th, from 4-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Livonia, NY, where Lenny’s Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 7th, at 11am.  Burial, with military honors, will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Rush, NY.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, NY 14450.  To send a condolence or share a memory please visit:  www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

    Please accept my condolences on the loss of Lenny. I worked for IBM when I was in college many years ago. I remember Lenny as being very kind and helpful and always with a smile on his face. Sending you prayers for healing.

We have fond memories of you both from the IBM days, the Friday nites at Boppers and his band playing at our wedding. He touched many hearts along the way and will be missed by many.   3. Pam, Christy, Scott and all of the families…… I have fond memories of Lenny as I was a coworker of his at IBM. I have been blessed to have worked beside him and known him. I’m so sorry to hear this. You are in my prayers.

  13. Lenny and I were friends while we served in Vietnam and have talked over the years. I think we were both glad to have reconnected again. He will be missed by all those he served with, such a fun uplifting guy.
