Robert F. Brisbane “Bob” – March 19, 2020

Lima, NY:  Bob passed peacefully at his home on March 19, 2020 at age 87.  He was born on May 15, 1932 in Rochester, NY to the late Fred and Gladys Brisbane.  Survived by his wife of 60 years Carolyn (LiFeber) Brisbane and children; Robert Brisbane of Lima and Linda Brisbane (Marty Martina) of Pittsford.  Also survived by several cousins and many friends in farming and his community.

Bob was a lifelong farmer, working alongside his father (Teddy), then son Rob, on land originally purchased by his grandfather over 100 years ago.  He was a loyal and devoted husband and father, in good days and bad, who lived a simple but decent life.  The family wishes to thank the nurses, aides, and staff at Livingston County Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Bob and his family.

  6. The Family of Bob Brisbane,
It’s always a sad experience when we hear of the passing of one of our farm clients. There are never the right words to say. Bob was indeed dedicated to agriculture and was able to stay with it right to the end. He got to experience his own retirement auction and still keep his land. It was a pleasure to work with a gentleman such as him.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you!
To Linda: If that Marty Martina is who I think he is, he grew up in my grandfather’s house across from his dad’s bowling alley and “Vin’s lounge” here in Wayland. I was in class with his sister Mary.

  7. Carolyn and Family, we are so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I’ll always remember that every time you saw Bob, he always took the time to connect with you. He was always interested in what you were doing. Maybe you hadn’t seen him in years, he jump right into the conversation and find out all that you had been doing. He was a very personal person, who love talking to people. He made you feel important to him, that you mattered. You all are in our hearts and prays.

  8. Linda, My heart goes out to you and your family. Losing a parent is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever been through. Be comforted by the good times/memories of your dad. He will show you signs that he is with you in spirit. I’m here if you need anything. Thoughts and prayers are with you. Amy

  9. Sad to hear his passing. He will be missed. Got so used to his pick-up truck traveling Livonia Center Road! He watched out for, and lent many neighbors his helping hands. RIP Bob.

  10. Linda and family, we were so sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. We remember him fondly and know he will be missed. When Buster and Rose passed away, we found these thoughts comforting. We hope they will comfort you also.
“Today we say goodbye to a loved one.
Someone who filled our lives with joy and meaning, laughter, and tears.
Someone who touched our souls and moved our hearts.
We thank him for the time he shared with us on earth and now sadly send his spirit to the heavens.
When you look at the stars, remember him — he will be the brightest star in the evening sky”
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
