William G. Greene “Bill” ~ March 17, 2020

Honeoye:  At age 75, Bill passed peacefully on March 17, 2020.  Predeceased by his wife Patricia (Lockwood) Greene, sister Lois Weaton, and brother-in-law Doug Wheaton.  Survived by sons; Danny Greene of Bloomfield, Scott (Sarah) Greene of Canandaigua, and Bill Greene of Winter Park, FL; sisters, Evelyn (Keith) Folts, Joyce Wheaton, and Cathy (Dennis) Weimer.  Also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Bill was born on December 22, 1944 to the late Clayton and Ella (Gordon) Greene.  After graduating from high school, he entered the US Air Force and served in Vietnam. Bill worked extremely hard his entire life, including over 40 years as the owner and operator of Bill Greene Excavating, and was always there to help others.  Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching sporting events, especially when his team was winning, and hauling race cars.  He had a great gift for storytelling.

  1. I worked with Bill Greene for many years. He was the kind of guy that would do anything for you. My thoughts and prayers go out to his many friends and family during this very difficult time.

  2. RIP Mr Greene. My parents always loved visiting with you at the MSU tailgates, I can remember them talking about it like it was yesterday. You were a heck of a great guy and I loved hearing the stories from your stock car racing adventures you went on.
