Honeoye, NY: February 17, 2020 at age 63. Predeceased by his father Bob (Elaine) Gendreau, his mother Chris Flora Kurtz, and his brother Bob Gendreau. Survived by children; Gabriel (Molly) Gendreau of Strafford, NH and Chelsea Gendreau of Schoharie, NY; sister Louise Boyd of Honeoye, half-sister Sandy (Dan) Cook of Charlottesville, VA, and former spouse Sherry Gendreau of Livonia. Also survived by many other loving family members, neighbors and friends in the Honeoye Community, and his dog Otis.
Tom was a very active community member, frequently donating his time to help others and make a difference. He was a longtime member of the Rotary club, serving as president of the club and camp director of Camp Honeoye. Tom spent several years as a local business owner, owning and operating TWG Machine, and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, especially loving Harley-Davidson and Norton bikes. Friends and family appreciated his witty humor and loving heart.
Family and friends may call on Friday, February 21st, from 5-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 8624 Main Street, Rte 20A, Honeoye, NY where Tom’s Funeral Service will be held at 7pm, following calling hours. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Honeoye, NY will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s memory to the Honeoye Lake Rotary Club, PO Box 641, Honeoye, NY 14471. Tom and Sherry were good to us when we moved into town. He brought me into Community groups as well as camping with his family. Great neighbors and friends. He always had a smile. Love to his family

Gabe, Chelsea and Louise, I am sorry for your loss. for our loss. Tom was truly a life long friend. He is in my earliest memories. We grew up together on Church Street. Those were great times. Even though I moved to Florida many years ago we stayed in touch. He came down and visited many times and we spoke on a regular basis. Tom was someone you could always count on. One time I came back from Florida in between law schools and needed a job. He gave me a job in the machine shop even though I’m not sure he really needed the help. That’s the kind of guy he was. Tom was a wonderful person. He will be missed greatly.
P.S. What an inspiration Tom was when, after he suffered a health issue, he showed true determination when he stood for re-election to the Town Board in 2015. The man showed his love for the Town by knocking on doors and asking for their vote. The voters came through for Tom by re-electing him to a fourth term. Quite a tribute to a good man.
Tom was definitely good people! He was a devoted public servant to the Town of Richmond, starting when he helped his father in the Water Department all the way to being on the Town Board and as Deputy Supervisor. I shall never forget his friendship and trust as I started out on the Town Board. Tom was always about our Town, knew when folks were on hard times, and had an understanding heart. One thing he definitely added to our Town Board meetings were great one-line jokes to help take the tension out of the air. A very special gift he had. I’m going to miss his smile, sense of humor, and friendship. RIP, Tommy.
Tom was a very friendly, likable guy always had a smile on his face even when he had health issues. Sorry for his sister Louise and family. Another Honeoye member gone to soon. Love to all

Tom always had a smile and a kind word for me. I’ve known him since I moved to Honeoye many years ago and he was one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to know. May he rest in peace.
Bill and i spent many Sunday mornings with Tommy- solving the world’s problems. He will be missed by his old “Church Street” gang.
