Thelma was always doing something productive. She was well known for her bread, and cookie baking, making sure there were cookies in the cookie jar. She was a Girl Scout leader, and had many badges earned by her scouts right from her kitchen, or backyard. She had a love for animals, especially her cats. There was at least one cat in the house for most of her life. Thelma enjoyed reading, sewing, dyeing, spinning, weaving, crafting, gardening, and quilting. She was a member of the Fiber Arts Guild, and the Stitch and Dine Quilt Club. Thelma sold Avon Products for many years. She was involved with her church’s many ministries. She was especially involved with the Mummers, which was the theatrical group from her church. She shared her strong faith in our Lord Jesus with people far beyond her family! Her strong prayer life touched people all around the world, and her example will be remembered by many, for many years. She now looks forward to seeing all her brothers and sisters in Christ again soon.

my prayers go out for your whole family. Be comforted that Thelma and Sherwood are together again and resting in God’s hands. Thelma will be missed
As the director of many of our church’s Christmas musicals, I had the good fortune to work closely with Thelma for many years. Her costumes were always creative. One such costume always brought smiles to our family: for one of the three kings’ head gear, Thelma had covered a Kentucky Fried Chicken bucket in cloth, attached a golden hoop earring to the front and it was worn upside down on one lucky king’s head. I also share Thelma’s love of cats and many of our family’s cats enjoyed fresh catnip from her garden.
We will miss this truly special lady!
Kathy and Lou: Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your extended family, Thelma’s strong faith and willingness to serve God in so many ways over the years at Christ Community Church was such an inspiration to all who knew her.
We truly will miss her.
My condolences to Thelma’s family. I also have to mention Sherwood at this time. They both unselfishly served our Lakeville community well however they could for decades and will be missed.
Thelma was my mentor for so many things in my life. We shared alot of likes for living on the farm as she was a person with great wisdom and knowledge. I will miss her terrible.
She always gave her heart to so many people in her life. Now she will be complete in her life as she will be with her beloved Sherwood.
Thelma was the go to person for old-fashioned, homestead how-to wisdom. Sharp and with a great sense of humor, too. She enters that well deserved rest, with joy!
Sorry to hear this she was a matriarch in lakeville, her baking was out of this world. So many memories of Mr. and Mrs. Hanna brings many beautiful memories and smiles to my face. God bless you Mrs. Hanna! Till we meet again.
Our sincere condolences to Thelma’s family and this beautiful lady will always be remembered.
