Millie was a longtime, active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and both the American Legion and Fire Department Woman Auxiliaries, all in Holley, NY. Over the years Millie had always enjoyed making crafts and tending to her many flowers and plants. She took up golf at 75, was still on a bowling league at 88, and received her first pool stick at 90. She was a longtime fan of the Buffalo Bills and was invited to be a guest at their training camp for her 100th birthday. When the players would ask her the key to a long life her answer was always,“be happy”. Her love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends was overflowing and unconditional.
Millie’s Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 18th, 10:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4 Avon Road, Geneseo, NY 14454. My sincere condolences to your family. No matter how long our loved one may have lived, they leave behind a void in our heart. May our loving Heavenly Father, who does not want us to die, bring to your mind joyful memories of your loved one. Please be comforted by the fact that at John 5: 28, 29, the Bible says that “there will be a resurrection”. This shows that our loving heavenly Father wants us to live. He has made provision for us through the death of his Son, Jesus Christ. He will resurrect our loved ones who have died and restore them to the Earth which will be turn into a literal Paradise. To Kathy and all of your entire family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Carreo. Kathy and I grew up in Holley, went to school together, and lived across the street from each other, on State street. Many years have passed since we have seen or spoken to each other. I would very much like to attend her burial in the summer. I still live in Holley, I can be reached at 585-330-6358 or on Facebook.
