Michael C. Driscoll “Mike” ~ October 9, 2018

 

Avon: Michael C. Driscoll “Mike” died peacefully on October 9, 2018 at age 74.  Mike was predeceased by both his parents Jack & Mary Driscoll and his son John Michael Driscoll. He is survived by his daughter & son in law Shelly & Bryan Read and grandchildren, siblings Bill (Marge) Driscoll, Judy (AJ) Stephany, Sharon (Jim) Glose, Pat (Anne) Driscoll, Dan (Sandy)Driscoll, lots of loved nieces & nephews and countless friends and customers.

Mike was born September 3, 1944, one of seven children born to Jack Driscoll and Mary (Edna McAllister) Driscoll. Mike was born and bred in Avon NY and he attended both St Agnes and Avon Central School. Mike owned and operated his own Locksmith Company for 56 years and generously provided 24-hour service to the Livingston and Monroe County area. Mike proudly raised his two children John & Shelly on his own. Mike was a devoted member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. Mike loved the town of Avon, everything Irish, going to breakfast, diner hopping, meeting new people, telling & listening to people’s stories but most of all bragging about his grandchildren Baylee, Owen & Keni Read.

Family and Friends are invited to call at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree St., Routes 15 & 20A, Livonia on Thursday, October 11th from 3-6pm.  His Funeral Mass will be held at 2pm on Friday, October 12th at St. Matthew Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Rd., Route 20A, Livonia.  Private burial St. Agnes Cemetery, Avon, NY.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mike’s Memory to Focus on the Children, PO Box 31, Caledonia, NY 14423.  To share a memory or send a condolence please visit:  www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

  1. Saw Mike not to long ago. Liked to kid him about his vehicle’s dashboards. Going to miss seeing him around at the local various churches meals. Sincerest condolences to the family.

  3. Shelley and Family, we are so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. Very hard to believe. We remember him just so full of life. We always thanked him for being a great friend to Eric. Also, I call Ed “little Mike in training” as he is the locksmith for St. Ann’s Community. He was a great citizen for Avon. We are thinking of you at this time.
