Lakeville/Groveland: February 6, 2016, peacefully at home, at age 70 years. Predeceased by her husband Kenneth Johnston in 2013. Survived by sons; Kevin (Becky) Johnston of Syracuse and Jeff (Kristen) Johnston of Groveland. Grandchildren; Lauren, Ashley, Caleb, and Caroline. Also survived by sister-in-law Collette McTarnaghan, aunt Helen Johnston, many nieces & nephews, especially Tracy, Mark, Brian, and Tim.
Joeen was born on April 16, 1945 in Minot, North Dakota to parents Howard & Dolores Howal. She was married to her husband Ken for almost 50 years before his passing in 2013.
A graveside service will be held privately at Union Cemetery, Scottsburg, NY with Rev. David Hotchkiss officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Livingston County Hospice, 1 Murray Hill Drive, Mt. Morris, NY 14510 or the Vincent House, 310 Second Avenue, Wayland, NY 14572. My heart is heavy learning of Joeen’s passing. She & Ken were some of my first clients and became friends. My deepest condolences go out to her family. She was a very special person and I shall miss her as will all who knew her.
Joeen was one of my favorite customers when I worked at Main Attraction in Dansville many years ago. I always looked forward to chatting with her and hearing about the family. It was an honor to know such a wonderful person.. sending thoughts and prayers..
