  1. My family was privileged to have the Reed Family (John, Gertrude, Bob, and Dave) as next door neighbors. One could never have found better neighbors or friends.

I first remember Dave from an overcast day of November 1952 when we moved in, and he showed up leading other “big kids” to help us unload. That’s what neighbors did in Honeoye.

My mother’s detailed diary records the fact that Dave was in the senior play (“Hillbilly Wedding”). I had forgotten that we grade-schoolers got to see a daytime presentation – for the fee of a dime! My younger brother begrudged paying that dime – but said decisively that only Dave was worth it! A hero to us even then. He was always such.

He was an important part of our growing up in a great community. Our thoughts are with his family.

  2. To David’s Family: My heartfelt condolences to you at this very difficult time. May your hearts find comfort in God’s wonderful promises for the future (Isaiah 33:24; Revelation 21:3-5). My sincere condolences to you.

  3. May he rest in peace through the mercy of God. Prayers ongoing for David and his family. So blessed to have known and loved his Mother as well as his son Mike and Mike’s wife Diane. Heartfelt condolences to Joanne and all the family.

  4. Dave was easily my best friend all through our youth. We started 1st grade together at the one room school house in frost hollow and graduated together from HCS. He loved his cars and we traveled the roads together many, many hours. He was a good, honest man.

  5. David was a very special classmate as he was a talented musician and athlete. Frankie Marzita, David, John Manfreda and I created a band. We practiced and practiced and were even asked to play at Maria Litz’s wedding. We only knew four songs but played them over and over with David on the drums.

We cheered for him on the basketball court and enjoyed his company as a classmate for many many years. He was a fine young man and when seeing him in later years at a class reunion, he remained the kind and interesting person he had been as a youngster.

I will remember him fondly and my thoughts are with his family now.

  6. I am sorry for the loss of your husband and lifelong friend. May you be comforted by knowing that your heavenly Father loves you and that his love never quits.

    Pastor Ray Shaw
