Lakeville: Rhea G. Root, 87 years of Stone Hill Road, Lakeville died on Friday January 23, 2009 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia after a lengthy illness. She was born March 9, 1921 in Susquehanna, PA the daughter of Stanley and Grace Stone. She was a member of the Harrison-Lee American Legion Post Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing euchre and doing crossword puzzles in her free time. Rhea was predeceased by her son Gary Comfort in 2002.

She is survived by her husband of thirty years, George D. Root. Her children, Joanne (Nate) Guzzardi of Mount Morris, Jimmy (Janette) Comfort of Kansas City, MO and Mark (Teri) Comfort of Wadsworth. Her daughter-in-law, Joyce Hagan of Wadsworth. 3 grandchildren, Beamer (Renee) Guzzardi, Jennifer Guzzardi, and Carrie Ann Monticino. Her great grandson, Tyler Guzzardi. Brother, Fred (Betty) Stone of Elmira, Sisters, Ethel Wyant of Hornell, Geraldine McKnight of Zepherhills, Florida. several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Sunday 2-5 PM at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. Routes 15 & 20A (21 Big Tree St) Livonia where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 AM with the Rev. Mark Steigler officiating. Burial at the convience of the family in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, York.
