Canandaigua: December 9th, 2014 at age 88. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Bond of Honeoye, his daughter Hallie Bond and his son-in law Mason Smith and his grandchildren Alex and Margaret Smith of Long Lake, NY and his brother Bruce Bond (Rita) of Sedona, AZ.
Bob was born in Denver, CO on September 26, 1926 to parents Fred and Margaret Bond. He was predeceased by his wife Mary in 1995.
Bob loved spending time in the Adirondack Mountains boating and hiking. He had a large collection of boats and enjoyed exploring every lake and river in the Adirondacks. One of his favorite quotes was “There is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.” Before he retired Bob was employed at the Gates Rubber Company in Denver, CO as the Director of International Advertising.
His family is very appreciative of all of the support from the staff, nurses and doctors at Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua.
Bob’s family will be having a private Memorial in Colorado to remember Bob’s life and in the spring his wife Margaret is planning a Celebration of Life Memorial in Honeoye. To send a condolence and for further information please visit:

My uncle … he was not only one of the smartest men I ever knew, but also one of the kindest and most thoughtful. He was always actively engaged in the business of living — either working on his property or reading/writing or sharing with others. He was the best storyteller and conversationalist, an opinionated and outspoken man, but one who knew how to give and take in discussions. He knew how to communicate caring with his actions, using few words but always demonstrating it by the way he treated others. He was such a powerful life force that it seems impossible that he is gone.
Bob was a member of the Honeoye-Richmond Historical Society and spent many hours preparing the Museum and assisting with docent programs. He was always friendly and accommodating. Bob will be missed.
Bob was an exceptional neighbor. There was no one who worked harder in his yard than Bob. He planted many trees in the back of his property that will someday be appreciated very much when they mature. Never a time did we see him without a smile on his face and a kind word. Bob was able to discuss any topic, such a wealth of knowledge. The neighborhood will not be the same without the smile and kindness of Bob. Bot made so many contributions to the museum at the Town Hall. He was always ready and willing to pitch in when ever there was a need. The Historical Society has suffered a great loss in Bob. Our best to you Margaret, and we are here if you have a need of any kind. Even though Bob is physically not here in the neighborhood, he will forever be here in spirit and in his many trees he planted. All our best to the family of wonderful Bob Bond.
