To the Damon Family,
I have known your mother all my life. Growing up there were about six girls in Lakeville, all within a year in ages, and we were all very close friends. Because of sharing the name Ruth, our friends decided (we were probably about 8-10 yrs old) that we needed separate names. Your mom became “Mac” and I became “Em” from our last names, names these friends called each other from then on! When your mother entered Genesee Hospital to begin her nurse’s training a year after I entered, she became my “little sister”. I was really sad when she left for Sonyea to finish her training.
I believe I may be the last remaining of that “Lakeville Gang” as we called ourselves. But I’m sure those already in heaven welcomed her with open arms and joy. Please accept my condolences in your great loss.
To the Damon family,
My heartfelt sympathy in your mom’s passing. She was a beautiful lady and great school nurse! Loved going to see her. May god bless you and comfort you!

Lisa, so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. May she rest in peace. Thinking of you in the days ahead. Linda
Fondest memories of a wonderful kind hearted woman. God willing, we shall all see her again.
Ruth Damon was an inspiration. I never ever wanted to go to the nurse and always tried not to go. But when I did Mrs. Damon is the nurs I remember. Now that I am a nurse I think of her often. She was a very caring person and that is the heart of a nurse. God bless her from all she touched. Cherish your memories!
To all the Damons— so surprised and saddened to hear about Ruth. She will be missed by all who knew her. She had a kind and gentle heart. My Regards to All. Donna Johnston
