Paul E. Marshall – January 10, 2025

Hemlock, NY:  Paul was born on March 26, 1933 in Canadice, NY and passed on January 10, 2025 in Rochester, NY, at age 91 years.  He was predeceased by his parents Leo and Jesse Ellen (Hoppough) Marshall, daughter Sharon Decker; siblings; Lyle Marshall, Donald Marshall, Adelle Connor, and William Marshall. 

Survived by his wife of 71 years Shirley (Thorpe) Marshall and children; Michael Marshall of Hemlock, Jim Marshall of Hemlock, Roger Marshall of Honeoye, and Sheila (Fred) Staley of Conesus; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson; special grandson John Marshall, and many nieces and nephews.

Paul graduated from the Hemlock School in 1951 and in 1953 he was inducted into the US Army.  He served from 1953 -1954 including time stationed in Korea.  He was honorably discharged from his reserve obligation in 1961.  Paul married Shirley in 1953 and they made Hemlock their home for their entire life.  Paul loved camping with his family and for many years had a permanent site at Holiday Hill in Springwater.  He had many hobbies and was a collector for all his life!

A Graveside service, with military honors, will be held in the future, service information will be announced.   1. Shirley and family so very sorry at the loss of Paul. We had a lot of fun so many years ago with all our boys and basketball. You two will always have a special place in our hearts! Enjoyed all the rides with you. Much love sent your way Shirley.

  2. So very sorry for the loss of Paul. Growing up down the street, I spent many hours with the Marshalls as a kid. My sympathies for the family. He was a great man.
