Nunda: At age 67, Ron passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, December 2, 2024, at his home in Nunda. He was born on February 23, 1957, in Rochester, NY to the late Joseph and Marjorie Ochs. Ron is predeceased by his siblings, Jerome Ochs, James Ochs, and John “Jack” Ochs. Survived by his beloved wife of nearly 46 years, Wendy L. (Gresens) Ochs, his children, Jessica L. Ochs of Nunda, and Daniel R. (Rebecca) Ochs of Nunda, his siblings, Barbara Klein of Rochester, Kathleen (Gene Bouley) Shaw of FL, and Kenneth (Christine) Ochs of FL, his grandchildren, Jack, Nick, and Mike Ochs, his Godson, Austin Ochs, and Goddaughter Kaity Price along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ron enjoyed sports both as a child and as an adult. He fondly told stories of playing. basketball, football, and baseball in his youth. He joined the US Navy near the end of the Vietnam War and shared his experiences both on the USS Rowan and his experiences while away from the ship. Upon his discharge, he returned to Rochester and went to MCC where he fell in love. There was a pinball game “Gold Strike” that would capture his interest, along with an admiring wife-to-be. Ron had many jobs, mostly focusing on logistics. In 1996 the idea of Nunda Mustard, made from his Grandma’s recipe, became a reality. He took great pride in it being a family-based product and shared ownership of “Golden Oaks Foods” with his wife. Ron’s love of sports as an adult included bowling, horseshoes, bocce, softball, and cheering for his teams, the Baltimore Orioles and the Buffalo Bills. His picture above was taken after the Bills win over the Chiefs on November 17th. One of his fond memories included Summer Jam at Watkins Glen. The music that carried him throughout life. To conclude his time on earth he asked to hear The Grateful Dead recording at The Glen.

I am so sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. Taken too soon!! I’m glad I got to see him at the Scenic Circle reunion a few years ago. His mustard is delicious. My prayers go out to his wife and family. May you rest in Peace Ron ?
