Newark, NY: At age 82, Terry passed peacefully at his home on May 5, 2024. He was born on August 15, 1941 in North Tonawanda, NY to the late Walter and Joan (Burgler) Krause. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife MaryAnn (Dunn) Krause, and his brother Keith Krause. Survived by his children; Mark Krause of Lyons and Katherine Krause of Newark; siblings, Brian (Wendy) Krause of Livonia and Karen Jean (Dave) Shattuck of Wolcott. Also survived by close friends Ann Davis and her son Scott Davis; nieces, nephews, cousins, and community friends.
Terry was a friend to many and enjoyed the company of people. He was always busy helping others; kind, gracious and generous. He had many friends among the Amish community in Wayne County. He was an active member of the Lyons Methodist Church, and worked at the Lyons Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels.
Terry served in the US Navy, 1960 to 1964 learning the electrical trade. He saw Europe, the Middle East and participated in the Cuban Missile Crisis and served aboard the aircraft carriers USS Essex and USS Enterprise. He was a 50 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 86 and worked on major projects such as the War Memorial, many Wegmans stores, Ginna and Nile Mile Point Nuclear Power Plants.
A Graveside Service and burial, with US Navy Honors, will be held at 11am on Friday, May 31st, at the New York State Veterans Cemetery – Finger Lakes (Sampson Veterans Cemetery), 6632 NY-96A, Romulus, NY 14541. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lyons United Methodist Church, 93 Williams St, Lyons, NY 14489.
