David A. Rynders ~ April 24, 2024

Nunda: At age 82, David passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his home in Nunda. He was born on July 20, 1941, to the late William and Nellie (Conrade) Rynders. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Bethly, and brother William Rynders.  David is survived by his partner of 20 years, Lana Dempsey, and daughters Suzette (Jeff) McDonald of Livonia, NY, and Carole (Richard) Jamison of Summerville, SC. and their mother Nancy.  Sister Mary (Charles) Geoghegan of Delanson, NY, sister-in-law, June Rynders, granddaughters, Charli and Rosalie (John Paul King) Jamison, Matthew (Nicki) McDonald, Keri (Joe Englebert) McDonald and great-grandchildren, Makaila, Jordyn, Luca, Madison, Joey, and Matthew John. Nieces and Nephews and great nieces and nephews… Also all his beloved 4-legged family….

David will be missed by many… He wore many hats in his lifetime: Significant other, husband, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, father-in-law, and a second dad.  David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling… David mostly enjoyed driving, he drove just about anything, if it had 2 or 28 wheels he drove it … He also was an animal lover, enjoyed being with family and friends sitting by the fire or at the kitchen table.  He had a strong connection with the Native American culture (Blackfoot Indian). He wore it well, with his boots, snapped western shirts, his turquoise jewelry, and belt buckles. He also dedicated his time to the Freemasons and the Scottish Rite for over 60 years. 

Family and friends may call on Sunday, May 5th, from 1-3 PM at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Livonia, NY where a Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM, following calling hours.  Burial will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, South Livonia.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Avoca Masonic Lodge #673 Chase Street Avoca, NY 14809. or your local Humane Society, or the Alzheimer’s Association.  To send a condolence or share a memory please visit:  www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

  4. I have a lot of good memories over the 40 some years we were married. We had 3 beautiful daughters . I have always loved him. May he rest in peace.

  5. Very sorry about the passing of David. He was the driver on several trips that we took and he was always good to be around. Again Suzette very sorry for your loss!

I will especially miss the great strong hugs that you always gave, the smell of your pipe and the snicker you would let out every time I would get on Toby’s case about something. Go and rest easy now and enjoy your final reward and special time with Bethly.
