Betty A. Schrader – February 16, 2024

Canadice:  At age 83, Betty passed on Friday, February 16, 2024 at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY.  She was born in Rochester, NY.  Predeceased by her parents Paul and Frances Guzzetta, brother Paul Guzzetta and daughter-in-law, Christine Mattice. Survived by her husband, Norman Schrader, sons, Timothy (Trish) Mattice, Marc Mattice, Daniel Mattice, Scott (Patricia) Mattice, daughter, Lisa (Tim) Jones. Sister, Jean (John) Lloyd, brothers-in-law, William (Nguyet) Schrader, Father Robert Schrader, 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Betty was best known for her singing in the St Mary’s choir, where she was the alto for over 30 years. She enjoyed fishing and hunting with her beloved husband Norm. Betty enjoyed dancing, watching sports and being with her family. She retired from R.I.T after 22 years. She was a mom to many. A staple in her family. An amazing mom, wife, grandma and friend.

Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 4PM – 7PM at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, 8624 Main Street in Honeoye, NY. Her Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, February 23, 2024 at St. Mary’s Church 8961 Main St, Honeoye, NY.   3. God bless you, Norm, and all you dear family members of Betty. What a bright light she’s always been. I hope we can be the same for everyone we meet. I rejoice in Betty’s joy. I’m humbled by her deep faith. She was so down to earth! I still marvel at her fishing success. She knew a few things the rest of us are still trying to figure out! Thank You, Lord, for blessing us with her. May she rest in peace, live and glory and intercede for us all.

  4. Betty was a wonderful lady whom I got to know over the years. We would talk about hunting and her kids and grandkids of whom she was proud. I will miss her smile and good nature…. my sincerest condolences to the family at this time … memories are a wonderful treasure…

  6. When I met Mrs. Schrader, she was an amazing lady. She was very nice to me. I will miss her very much. She was loved by everyone who loved her & who knew her. She will be everyone’s guardian angel now.

  7. Best mother anyone could ask for. Always there to encourage and offer advice, never judged. . She loved all of her children equally regardless of their actions.
    She absolutely adored her husband and her father.
    Her face always lit up when visiting her for coffee or during family events.
    She loved to dance.
    Her faith was unwavering.
    She thoroughly enjoyed singing in the church choir.
    She will be missed immensely.

  8. Many don’t know me but I got to see Betty every saturday.when her and Norm brought their trash to the.local.drop.off.Betty was a wonderful.peraon loved get a little kiss on the cheek and truly lit up when I called her beautiful.I will truly miss seeing.Betty on Saturdays.

  9. There’s so many things you’ve taught me grandma. I’ll never forget all that you’ve done for me. I’m so thankful to have gotten to spend so much time with you the last 2 years. Taking you shopping and being a pain in your butt. Watching Let’s Make a Deal and Price is Right. Hugging you and telling you you were my favorite. I miss you so much already and I promise to take care of grandpa and bring the jumble to you once it’s nicer out. My sweet Grammy I love you to eternity and beyond. You’ll forever have a spot in my heart. Tucked away just for you. My godmother. My grandmother. My best friend

  10. Mom loved her family. I am so proud to have her as my mother. She has always been there for me and I am forever grateful she was my mother. . She will be truly missed.
