Hemlock, NY: At age 91 years, Ed passed peacefully at home on August 22, 2023. He was born on September 23, 1931 in Rochester, NY to the late Edward & Grace Ellen (Cook) Schubert. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Sally (Foreman) Schubert and his sister Betty Nobles.
Survived by children; Tina Schubert of Honeoye Falls, David (Cathy) Schubert of Livonia, Patti (Brian) Cusimano of Penn Yan, Peter (Pam) Schubert of Harrison, AR, (and their mother Catherine Schubert of Lima); Garth Perry of Fairport, and Perry Loiselle of Shoreline, Washington; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends in the Livonia community including his church family at the United Methodist Church of Livonia.
Ed, also known by many of his family members as “Pete”, served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 and attended Alfred University. He owned and operated the Culver Manor on Conesus Lake until it was lost to fire in 1964. He then owned a construction/drywall business until his “retirement”.
Ed was active in community service all his life. He served on the Livonia School Board in the ‘70s and cooked at Old Hickory Golf Course for years. He was a very active Rotary member starting as a Junior Rotarian in High School. He and wife Sally participated and volunteered in church activities and could be found serving up spaghetti at many, many spaghetti supper fundraisers. Ed and Sally were recognized for Lifetime Achievement Award for Livonia Volunteer Community Service Award in 2012.
In 2018 Ed and Sally were honored for their service as board members and their countless hours maintaining the Union Cemetery in Livonia. When not involved in volunteer service, Ed and Sally were the epitome of Livonia School sports boosters. They attended sporting events to cheer on the Livonia boys and girls well past the years when their own children and grandchildren were participants.
Ed loved to hunt, fish and cane chairs. Chair caning was a talent learned from his mother and many friends and family have chairs caned by Ed. If you don’t, then come and get one!
How do you summarize the life of Ed Schubert in anything less than a novel?

R.I.P. Ed, had a lot of good times together at Gerber Baby Foods back in the 50s and 60s. Last saw Ed two years ago at a small Gerber gathering remembering the old days.
Tina, David, Patti, and Peter. So sorry to hear of your Dads passing. I remember many happy times on the Lake. Rest in Peace Ed.
So sad to hear of Ed’s passing. No other words other than “. He was one great guy”. Kind, hard working, sincere, honest guy. Always respected him. The world lost a gentleman

No one finer that cared for every person he ever met. Blessed to have spent some really great conversations with him when I was growing up – which I haven’t quite yet but I think that he would say that that is okay too.
Our deepest condolences to the Schubert family. He did so much for the Livonia Community. He will be missed.
What a “Heavenly” day for John. His best buddy is there to join him. I would bet they are discussing wrestling or any other sports and drinking coffee and hot chocolate. The memories of all the fun and good times will live with me and my family forever. If you want a definition of aChristian. Look up Ed Schubert. God Bless
So sorry Pete. My brother Terry worked with him when he was doing drywall
He was a nice man
I worked too many to count, Rotary dinners with Ed & Sally! So much fun!! I think of the countless hours they put into the stone fence they built around their home & think of them every time I go by there. Donna (VanDerMeid) Rodger

Oh where to start, grandpa Ed was a great. Guy and I’m glad I got to know him for my whole life lol and for all those weekends in the summer that my mom would bring us to the pond with aunt Tina.
