Elmira/Horseheads: Danielle passed peacefully on August 4, 2023 at age 71. Predeceased by her parents Carlton and Rhoda Farnbaugh; brothers William Farnbaugh, Richard Farnbaugh, Mark Farnbaugh, and brother-in-law Lance Parker Sr.
Survived by sister Nancy Parker, nephews Lance Parker Jr., Fred Parker, William Farnbaugh, Carlton Farnbaugh; nieces Celeste (Patrick) O’Dea, Bekki (Farnbaugh) Chiasson, Julie (David) Neal and several great nieces and nephews.
In Danny’s own words, “I lived an interesting life.” Professionally, Danielle was an entrepreneur, a writer, fundraiser, and accomplished musician. Danielle helped raise millions of dollars for the arts and charitable organizations including the Clemens Center, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, and the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. Her professional life provided many opportunities for her to meet politicians, musicians, and other celebrities. In her free time, Danny enjoyed languages, reading, crafts and music in all forms.
A graveside service will be held at 10am on Friday, August 18th, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1200 Walnut Street, Elmira, NY. In lieu of flowers, Danny requested donations be made in her memory to the Lakeville Community Pantry, P.O. Box 223, Lakeville, NY 14480. I am sorry to learn of Danielle’s passing. I’d see her at the Clemens Center many times. My memory also is that she worked at the Star Gazette as well. She would talk to my father about my sister Barb Bennett Perkins SHS class of ’69. Dad had retired in 85. In the fall of ’87 or a bit later she stopped me, at the Clemens Center where I was ushering, and said I miss talking to your dad and finding out how Barb is doing. She lived in LIma. It pained me so much that I had to tell her Barb had passed that September. No young schoolmate expected to learn someone who was only 35 had lost her 6 year battle with breast cancer. I tried my best to soften the blow of telling her. She was sad to hear, but I told her it hurt me to tell her as ell. She was such a great gal. She also was in Wind Ensemble in the woodwinds I believe. Those years under the leadership of “Mr. B”…Fred Betschen were fantastic years, and we were so grateful to have great memories those years at SHS.
