Survived by Wife of 59 1/2 years, Mary Leeper Patterson; Children, Roy Patterson, Jr., Jill Patterson (Jeff White), Victoria Patterson, Matthew Patterson Sr., Cynthia Patterson (Kenneth Akers), Lisa Patterson McKay, Ruth Patterson (Tony Fountain) & son-in-law, Kevin Walsh. 18 Grandchildren, Lorinda DeCerbo, Roy Patterson III,Nicole Cunningham, Ryan Patterson, Jessica Gramkee, Jennifer Simzer, Matthew Patterson,Jr., Elizabeth Godbee,Mark Patterson, Emily Patterson, Stephanie Marshall, Jacinda Hacker, Julia McKay, Amanda McKay, Scotty McKay, Gregory Walsh, Meghan Walsh, Johnathan Roy Fountain. 13 great-grandchildren,Joey DeCerbo, Gina DeCerbo, Brodrick Patterson, Lynessa Patterson, Lysette Patterson, Brenner Patterson, Raymond Simzer, Darryl Simzer, Halie Simzer, Wyatt Patterson, Margaret Godbee, Morgan McKay, Kaila Marshall. Roy enjoyed farm life in Penfield,NY as a boy. He helped on his family farm as a young man. Then moved to South Livonia, NY with his bride Mary, in December 1951. Roy continued to farm for a few years before starting a carpentry business, which he continued until his retirement.

Roy enjoyed his family. He also enjoyed his cup of tea and sweets while finding out what was going on in your life. He always had a story to tell. Roy enjoyed the Adirondacks and Canada for vacations with the family. He spent time on family geneaolgy and also in his tool shop working with his tools. However, one of his most favorite activities was driving his John Deere tractor around his South Livonia property.

Roy was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness on August 3, 1949. He was active in the preaching work. He was one of the orginal seven who started the Avon, NY Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was part of the building group and was instrumental in the building and remodeling of many Kingdom Halls in NYS, NJ, & PA. He also assisted with disaster relief work. Most of all, Roy was loved and adored by his wife & children, family & friends.
