Honeoye: At age 79, Jane passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. She was born in Batavia, NY to the late Russell and Alverta May. Jane is predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Fisher; and by her brother, Stanley May. Survived by her children, John (Olga) Fisher and Cheryl (Jeff) Harloff, her brother, Carl (Carol Ann) May and a sister in law, Shirley May; her grandchildren, Shane, Nick, Nataliya, Natasha and Adrian, several nieces, nephews and life long friend Sandy Gates.
Jane was raised on the family produce farm in Honeoye, NY. Her parents owned a widely known farm stand on Main St that is still being used today on the school sports fields. After graduating from the University of Denver, Jane was employed for many years as a bookkeeper. Her love of horses as a young girl led her to meeting her husband. She and Robert together operated a horse farm on Allen’s Hill for 20 years where their love for horses was passed on to their children. Jane spent years in the Ontario County 4-H program as a young adult member and then as a 4-H club leader and drill team leader. Jane loved gardening and the outdoors where she took long walks with her beloved dog, Jack. She enjoyed playing cards including euchre and bridge where she met weekly with a loyal group of ladies. She was an avid reader and volunteer at the Bristol library. She loved watching the Buffalo Bills. Jane was very proud of all of her grandchildren and was looking forward to seeing them accomplish their goals. She will be forever cheering them on.
