Honeoye/Livonia: Josephine G. “Jo” Schwartz of Lake Ends Lane in Honeoye formerly of Livonia died Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Highland Hospital in Rochester. She was born in Perry, NY the daughter of Edward and Mabel McGill Gavin. Jo was predeceased by her husband John, on January 15, 1981. She was a graduate of Warsaw High School and received her BS in Nursing Education from the University of Rochester. Prior to retirement, she was employed at Rochester Psychiatric Center, and the Monroe Community College where she retired from in June 1981. She was a member of the RPC Retirement Group, MCC Foundation, and the MCC Retirement Group. She was also recognized as a Professor Emeritus at Monroe Community College.

Jo is survived by her nieces Vicki Smith, Toni Thomas, and Sandy Johnston. nephew, Ben Gavin. Also, step children, Sandra (Chris) Croff of Montana, Stephen (Barbara) Schwartz of Michigan, Kathleen Keeling of Montana. grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends may call Thursday November 6, 2008 from 4-7 PM at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. Routes 15 and 20A Livonia where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM with the Rev. John H. Hayes officiating. Burial, Union Cemetery. Livonia.
