Conesus Lake/Greece: At age 61, Randy passed away on July 13, 2021 after a three-year battle with cancer. His passionate, vibrant spirit will be forever in our hearts. Predeceased by his parents, Bob & Betty Smith & his brother Rob Smith. Survived by his wife Julie Gendron Smith, his children Nicole R. Smith of Buffalo, Shane P. Smith of Geneseo & several aunts, uncles & cousins.

Randy was a veteran of the United States Navy, Member of the IBEW Local 86, a Realtor at ReMax Hometown Choice, and an active volunteer at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Livonia.

Family and Friends may call from 4-7PM on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, 21 Big Tree Street in Livonia. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10AM on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road in Livonia. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Ave in Rochester, NY at Noon.   6. Julie, Nicole, and Shane: I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Randy’s passing. I have fond memories of playing with my cousin, Randy, when we were growing up as neighbors on Long Pond Road. He really made something of his life, serving his country in the navy and then serving the Lord in his church. I know he was very close to his family and I offer my condolences to you as you mourn your loss. I am praying for all of you.

    On behalf of the Drexler family, please accept our deepest condolences. Randy grew up next to us on Long Pond Rd. He was dear friends with our brother Patrick and together they raised a lot of “ noise” in & out of school!
    He was a friend to all of us- lots of great times together!! We were sincerely appreciative that he took the time to pay his respects to Patrick a few years ago; but as you know, that’s the kinda great guy Randy was!
    This news truly saddens our family; may his soul Rest In Peace. And let’s hope the two old buddies don’t get into too much mischief upstairs!

    What a great loss. You two were the first one’s we met when moving to the lake and has been a privilege to be your friends. Randy was always fun to talk with about our cars! He put up a great fight, but cancer is not fair. I know he had a great life with you and the kids and he will be missed! Please let us know if we can help in any way.

We very quickly came to know Randy as a positive, enthusiastic, upbeat individual with a deep commitment to St. Matthew. May you now rest in peace Randy, you will be missed.
