Livonia: Katherine W. Gfeller, 91, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021, under the loving care of her family. Kay was born on September 23, 1929 in Batavia, NY to the late Frank and Mary (Blascak) Wratny. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son William J. Gfeller Jr., her husband William J. Gfeller, and brothers, Frank Jr., Alfred, and William Wratny. Survived by children: Doreen (Jeffrey) Roberts of Remsen, Elizabeth (Daniel) Synakowski of Remsen, Gary (Tina) Gfeller of Utah, and Mary Kay Gfeller of Homer; grandchildren, Jeff Gfeller, Craig (Faith) Gfeller, Christie Gfeller, Michelle (Josh) Kjolhede, Amy (Dominick) DeAngelo IV, Jennifer (Andrew) Schiavi, Kaylyn Synakowski, Matthew and Melissa Gfeller; great-grandchildren, Alexa and Peyton Gfeller, Thomas, Adam, Grace and Samuel Gfeller, Madelyn Roome, and Dominick DeAngelo V. Also survived by several nieces & nephews.
Kay was married to William J. Gfeller for 51 years until his passing in 2004. She was a dedicated and loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, June 19th, from 9am-11am at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Livonia, NY. Funeral Mass will be held at 11am, following calling hours, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road, Rte 20A, Livonia, NY. I will miss her immensely! She was such a joy to see coming into the office!! Her smile always lit up the room and made my day!!! Our hugs were the most special part of her visit. Fly high my friend. Till we meet again!!!!
