  4. I met chris about a year ago we worked at Clifton springs hospital together. He was such a sweet man. He had so much compassion for his patients. He knew them well and he went above and beyond to make sure there needs were met. When he left Clifton to start a new chapter in his life I was so sad about it. I thought to myself now who can replace him? Chris was surely one of a kind. He will be greatly missed.

  6. I worked with Chris for a few years not too long ago. We would talk once in a while. The conversations were not deep, but always left me with the feeling that he was a very kind, considerate and compassionate man. He was very gentle and quiet in his mannerisms, and I felt a calmness in his presence. I imagine his patients felt the same way when in his care. To Chris’ family, I wish to say I am sorry for your loss.

  7. I remember Chris from Tay House scouting and to a certain extent Brighton High. Just an all around nice person. Sorry to hear this news and sorry this is happening during the Covid outbreak when you can’t really have a service. I see that he went into the military and wonder if his scouting experience pointed him somewhat in that direction. Regards to all the States family members that I remember from Brighton. And David, thanks for fixing me when I broke various bones during my teenage years.

  8. Kevin and I were so sad to hear of the passing of Chris. We will always remember Chris and his “boys” BJ and Bubba and how much he loved them. He would comment that he had to put the boys on a diet, all the while his pockets were filled with treats for them! He was a compassionate and caring friend and we can imagine how his passing will impact his family, friends and patients. Our love to the entire States family.

  9. I knew Chris in a professional capacity where he was my infusion nurse for many years. As a nurse myself, what always stood out about Chris was his attention to detail and patient safety even when he had little support from clinical leaders. He always advocated for what was right not what was expedient or “cost-effective”. His professionalism, empathy, and integrity will be greatly missed by me and so many others who had the privileged of knowing him. I am so deeply sorry for your tremendous loss. God bless all of you now and always.

Chris was a wonderful guy, it’s a sad time whenever a family member passes on, though this year with his passing it made for a sad holiday weekend I’m sure. Hang in there everyone, reach out whenever you feel sad. Bottling up emotions isn’t good for you, you have to let it out.
