Jane M. Windsor (Mulvaney) – January 3, 2020

Conesus:  At age 93, Jane passed peacefully on January 3, 2020 surrounded by her family.  She was born September 20, 1926 to the late Edward and Ruth (Strong) Mulvaney.  Predeceased by her loving husband Donald D. Windsor, 7 siblings and canine companion Dewy.  Survived by her children; Debbie (Steve) Dinsmore of CA, Pam (David) Young of Conesus, Peggy Woodruff of Livonia, Dee (John) Piasta of Honeoye, David (Dana) Windsor of TX, and Chris (Debbie) Windsor of UT; 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Jane retired as a school nurse teacher at Honeoye Falls Lima school.  She was a nurse at Camp Stella Maris during the summers, and also enjoyed her week with her husband at Hemlock Fair’s St. Jane’s infirmary.  Her family was most important in her life and she never missed an opportunity to brag about her grandchildren.  She was a devout Catholic and a faithful parishioner all of her life. She left a lasting impression and was loved by everyone she met!

Family and friends may call on Sunday, August 16, 2020 from 3-5pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Livonia, NY.   Jane’s Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Monday, August 17th, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road, Rte 20A, Livonia, NY.  It will be live streamed on the St. Matthew Facebook page at http://facebook.com/stsmaryandmatthewfaithcommunity.  Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Livonia.  Please remember that we will adhere to NYS guidelines regarding social distancing and face masks.  In her memory, contributions may be made to Conesus Lake Nursing Home 6131 Big Tree Road, Livonia, NY 14487 or St. Matthew Catholic church PO Box 77 Livonia, NY  14487.  To send a condolence and for further information please visit www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

  1. I had the privilege of working with Jane “Nursey Jane” while I was at HFL Middle school and she was awesome. Her parties at the lake were memorable by all who attended. After some similar weeknight activities she would allow me some “recovery time” on a Nurse’e Office bed during the next day, in true nurturing nurse-like fashion. What a great lady.
    I am so sorry for your loss and wish I could have been at her service.

  2. Please accept our condolences again, Don and I won’t be attending the calling hours today, we’re still staying away from crowds, unfortunately we are now senior citizens and trying to stay healthy.
    I have so many great memories of Jane, what a great woman she was! Much love to all of her family!

  7. So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I have such great memories her contagious smile, fun times at the house on the Lake, and happy hour at the Airstream parked at the Fair. I’m sure you all treasure the many happy days that surrounded the wonderful life she and Don shared with so many!! Thoughts are with all of you and hope that your hearts can be full knowing that Jane and Don are together again with so many of their friends and family that have gone before them.

We will miss Jane (& Don) in our lives & have enjoyed being the caretakers of their family home for the past 28 years. Jane (& Don) became very special people in our lives & will never be forgotten.   10. Oh how I miss both my in-laws! Such great, compassionate good hearted people! Jane couldn’t of been a more fantastic Mother in-law to have. If I could of picked one myself it would of been her. She always made me feel at home and would include me in with family decisions. Like where our we going to have our next family gathering! Lol She was always about the family and I have missed her so much!
    I’ll cherish all the memories we had together, Dad too. May she rest in peace and go be with Don forever. Love you Mom.

  18. I will never forget all the times that my mom would call Jane and ask if we could come down for a swim, and of course, Jane never said no. I remember Jane’s explaining the rosary to me and I wasn’t even Catholic back then! I recall how welcoming she was to,all of us when we moved to Livonia, and always loved seeing her at church. Heaven gained another angel. She will be missed by all of us.

  19. So sorry for your loss. Jane was the reason that I became a Lector at St. Matthew Church. The first time I heard her do a reading at St. Joseph’s, I knew I wanted to be “just like her.” She was the sweetest lady ever and devoted to Don. What a reunion for them.

  30. Jane was always a pleasure to spend time with at Hemlock “Little Worlds” Fair and was so loved that our nurses office is named after her “St. Jane’s Infirmary. Our condolences go out to the family. Her and Don will always be remembered for all the years they contributed to the Fair.
