Ella Marie Binder (Hartson) – November 4, 2019

Scottsburg:  Ella passed peacefully at her home on November 4, 2019 at age 92.  Predeceased by her husband Emory C. Binder, her parents Willard and Laura (Long) Hartson, her brothers Willard Hartson, Arden Hartson, and Anson Hartson.  Survived by children;  Sally Binder, Linda Binder (Tom Austin), James Binder (Michelle Cowley), and June (James) Webster; grandchildren, Ronald Stefan, Kevin (Maureen) Stefan, Thomas Stefan, and William Stefan, Anita Binder (Joshua Catchpole), Joseph (Laura) Binder, Crieg Binder, James Binder (Caelie Smith), Korie Binder (Bryce Jaeger), James Webster (Jeremy Wroblewski), Kristina (Kenny) Holmes, Joseph (Kaeleigh) D’Agostino, and Samuel D’Agostino; sisters, Gladys Weed and Martha Martin; many great-grandchildren including Hailey Gilson, nieces, and nephews.  Also survived by sisters-in-law, Audie Hartson, Mary Kay Hartson, and Darlene Binder.

Ella graduated from Groveland High School on June 24, 1946 and received a scholarship to attend Rochester Business Institute.  Instead Ella chose to work at F.A.Owens in Dansville as an Executive secretary and to start a family.  Ella was a loving wife to Emory for over 50 years and dedicated her life to raising her children especially Sally devoting 50 plus years to meet her needs at home.  She loved gardening, crocheting and going for long car rides to get ice cream.

 

Family and friends may call on Monday, November 11th, from 10am-12noon at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 20A, Livonia, NY where Ella’s Funeral Service will be held at 12noon, following calling hours.  Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Scottsburg, NY.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family, C/O June Webster, 744 Sand Hill Road, Caledonia, NY 14423.  To send a condolence or share a memory please visit:  www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com
