Livonia:  Joan was called to heaven on October 29, 2019, at age 85, with family by her side.  Predeceased by her husband Frederick Naegele in 2006 and her sister Norma Keating.  Survived by children; Nancy Naegele of Corning, Paul Naegele of Livonia, and Lisa (Dan) Sage of Fairport; grandchildren, Stephanie (Travis) Sage, Tyler Trapp, and Julia Sage; great-grandson Landon McFadden; and sister Lois Schweitzer. Joan is also survived by many other family and friends including her church family at the First Presbyterian Church of Livonia.

Born on August 29, 1934, raised in Buffalo and a graduate of Kensington High School. Joan moved to Rochester in 1953 to marry, continue her education and eventually raise her three children. She enjoyed ice skating, swimming and history but most of all the peace and serenity she found on Conesus Lake. A woman of strong faith, passion and commitment to family, friends and her community. Joan will be forever remembered in our hearts.

A Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held with the Sunday Service at 9:30am on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church of Livonia, 3837 Center Street, Livonia Center, NY 14487.  Burial will be held privately at Lakeview Cemetery, Groveland, NY.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s Memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Livonia at the address above or the Flaum Eye Institute, 210 Crittenden Blvd., Rochester, NY 14642.  To send a condolence or share a memory please visit:  www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com
