Gerald L. Brol “Jerry” – October 13, 2019

 

Livonia: October 13, 2019, at age 86 years, peacefully at his home. Predeceased by his wife Rae Elaine Brol “Susie”, three infant children; George, Elizabeth, and Joseph; parents Walter and Julia Brol, 10 siblings, and daughter-in-law Mary Ann Brol. Survived by children, Paul (LeeAnne) Brol of Henrietta, Raymond (Karen) Brol of Canadice, Timothy Brol of Springwater, and Pamela (Jeffrey) Dailey of Avon. Also survived by his siblings; Bernice Nolan, Sylvia (Jorge) Deju, and Victor (Pat) Brol, 5 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.

Jerry was born on March 24, 1933 in Great Valley, NY to parents Walter and Julia (Puvel) Brol.  He attended Salamanca High School and later joined the US Air Force serving active duty from 1952-1956.  Jerry served during the Korean Conflict and also served in the reserves until 1960.  He enjoyed gardening, smoking his pipe, and attending church.  He was an usher at St. Matthew Catholic Church for many years.  Jerry retired from Agway in Hemlock, NY where he was the manager and later retired from Eastman Kodak, Rochester, NY.

Friends & family may call on Friday, October 25th, from 5-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 20A, Livonia. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, October 26th, at 10:00am at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road, Livonia, NY. Burial to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Livonia, NY with US Air Force Military Honors.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church, PO Box 77, Livonia, NY 14487.   1. Uncle Gerald will be greatly missed and remembered always. My prayers are with all the family. He was a very special uncle. I will never forget when he insisted that the four-leaf clovers I found in East Otto weren’t really clovers!!! Such fun we used to have when he and Aunt Susie and the cousins would visit us on the farm and at the family reunions! Let’s all treasure the memories.
