Mariane was loved and respected by many.  She grew up in Livonia, attended school there, worked on her family farm, loved John Deere tractors, attended SUNY Geneseo for her teaching degree, taught at St. Agnes in Avon, and years later retired from Harris Seeds.  She was well known for her signature long brunette hair; strong work ethic, kind heart and generous character; never afraid to get her hands dirty; and her Mother’s tradition of baking amazing Christmas cookies every year that were enjoyed by many.  She will always have a place in the hearts and minds of all she encountered throughout her life.

  1. Marianne was my eighth grade teacher in St. Agnes school. She was instrumental in helping me with my schedule in my first year at ACS which later helped form my success. I was fortunate to run into her about 6 years ago at personally thank her. I always remembered her for helping me and caring about my future. I’m saddened I missed her passing but now she is at peace with her family and the lord. Many, many thanks RIP Marianne.

  2. Memory from high school…. taking her dads truck, driving less than a mile. We would stop, she would take a wrench out her pocket, disconnect the odometer cable (dad would check her mileage ?) and then we would chase around the county looking for ……Billy Clark! We did have fun! She will be missed.

  3. Mickey,
I just missed the opportunity to see you mom. I was in Livonia on the 4th and thought of stopping by. Now I really wish I had. Life is is unexpected and I am hurting for you right now. Your mom and I looked at each other every day for almost three years. I listened to my fair share of “this is like” analogies. Your mom had one for every situation! She made me laugh every day. She gave me advice….whether I wanted it or not…about every little thing (and I cherished every word). You mom was not only wise, but the most loving woman I know. Even though I have not seen her this year, I would keep in touch after I left Harris Seeds. Your mom was so special in my life and in my heart. I am so very sorry for your loss.

  4. Marianne was such a kind compassionate lady. She always was so upbeat and had an infectious smile. I will never forget our antics at Hemlock fair – teasing her I wouldn’t be able to let her through the gate. Her kind nature and friendship will always live on in my heart. God speed Marianne – fly high!

  6. I went to school with Marianne. I am sad to hear of her passing. We were not close friends but going to school with someone gives you a connection that will always be. She was a sweet and very nice girl.i never heard her say a bad word about anybody. I pray for Marianne’s family and for God to give them comfort and peace. Rest in the arms of Jesus, Marianne.

  7. Micky,
I was shocked when my best friend and coworker Angie from Harris Seeds let me know of your mom’s passing. Mariane and I retired from Harris on the same day June 30th 2017. She was such a good person and was one of the best plug and liner sales people Harris ever had. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Rest in peace Mariane.

  8. My condolences – I can’t believe she is no longer with us – when I started working at Harris Seeds on Saginaw Drive I met Mariane in the parking lot that first morning and she warmly welcomed me – and from that point on we became the best of friends and I called her the younger sister I never had. I am going to miss her more than I can say. Little did I know that my phone conversation with her last Friday would be the last I would hear her voice. Rest In Peace – you will be missed.

  9. Michelle, we are so sorry and sad to hear of your mothers passing. We enjoyed visiting with her in October. Sorry we missed seeing you. I loved your dad and was so happy he found the love of his life. Y’all have had some rough times, and always came out on top it seemed to me. All your mama could talk about was how proud she was of you. If we ever get back to NY we will find you. I want to hug and hold you right now so bad. Call me anytime. 208-322-5056. Love you and your family so very much. Sue and Darryl Thomas
