  1. Hi Grammy,

I’m sorry I haven’t reached out to you yet. I know you’re super busy and with all my family here it’s been difficult to find a time to call. I hope to soon once my dad and brother leave but for now I just wanted to email you to say hi, I love you, and that I want you to know how amazing of a grandmother you are and how grateful I am that you met Grampy and that God orchestrated such an amazing marriage that I got to reap some goodness and blessing from, as did so many others.

It is amazing how situations that seem to be so drab and dreary can turn into such amazing and beautifully unexpected ones. I would never say I am thankful for divorce, but I will say that I am grateful that out of your personal struggle many years ago, Grampy entered all of our lives and made such a lasting, positive impact. I will always treasure him and all of the wonderful memories we made together. Whether it be taking trips in the RV, making pancakes, eggs, and bacon on Saturday mornings in Sterling, walking on the rail trail, cleaning the pool, listening to his stories, or watching baseball/jeopardy/wheel of fortune with the newspaper – I will always be thankful that out of struggle was born all of these rays of sunshine.

I hope I haven’t heavied your burden by saying all these things, that is not my intention. I simply want to say thank you for being the amazing woman that Grampy fell in love with. I cannot imagine my childhood without either of you and I feel so blessed to have been touched by your marriage and love. I will miss Grampy very much, as I know everyone will. You are an amazing and strong lady, know that I love you so so much and I am praying for you. I wish I could be there in “sunny Geneseo” with you all tomorrow, but I will be there in heart and mind.

Love you Grammy, let me know if there is anything I can do. I can’t wait to see you and give you the biggest hug. Love you, Grammy.

    XO – Brookester

  2. Jim was a dear next door neighbor of ours in Bolton, MA. He helped Mary and I with construction of our new family room/garage foundation and floor. Jim was always full of pride in his work. He was quick to smile at seeing us and often would tell the funniest stories. Since Jim moved away from our neighborhood I had only seen him once at his surprise birthday at his home in Sterling. Was saddened to hear of his passing, but at the same time being happy that he is with our lord Jesus Christ. We’ll miss a truly great friend and once great neighbor of ours.

  3. Jim was such a fun partner of mine on the Monday morning golf league.I will miss his smile and sence of humor. He was always such a gentleman.Rest in pease my friend.

  4. Jim was sincerely one of the kindest men I have ever met. He was thoughtful and generous with his time. The most impressive thing about him was his personal testimony and how his relationship with his savior, Jesus Christ, transformed him. He was humble and forthright about the grace of God given to him. He loved a good game and was a fierce ‘Sudoko’ player. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a kind word. We will miss you Jim Cole! Until we meet again in eternity!
