Beverly “Bev” A. Hughes ~ October 29, 2020

Livonia: At age 82, Bev passed away on her 65th Wedding Anniversary on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born in Middletown, NY to the late Walter and Gertrude Nichols. Bev was predeceased by her beloved husband; Richard Hughes, her siblings; Butch, Donna, Danny, Deborah, Tootie and her granddaughter; Caylyn Duffy. Survived by her children; Christine Hughes, Cindee (Michael) Duryea, Colleen (Michael) Ross, Richard (Cindy) Hughes, Cheri (Dane) Duffy, Candace (Jeff) Swan, her 20 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

Bev was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved spending time with her family.  She cherished them.  She was a proud bus driver for over 20 years at Livonia Central School and Avon Central School.  She loved crocheting, gardening, baking and many of the simple things in life.  Bev helped her daughter every summer at her farm’s vegetable stand and really enjoyed it.  She had a real love for the Adirondack Mountains.  She took her family and herself to the same camp ground for over 50 years.  Many of her children and grandchildren carry on this legacy still.  She was a strong woman in so many ways, cracking jokes until the end.

A funeral service will be held privately and interment will take place at Union Cemetery on Big Tree Road in Livonia.   1. I feel bad leaving this message so long after you passed but I didn’t see this until today….. Aunt bevvie I remember the smell of your house all the time and your baking something all the time I remember the type swing outside in front of your house and the barn out back I remember Cindy getting jessi to eat inch worms lol but I mostly remember when I was at your house I never wanted to leave although you never let the chance to embarrass the hell out of me or jessi pass by not once lol……. Your Sarcasm aa and quick sharp just under explicit jokes and innuendos that always made me laugh too I cried you were the eldest the first born and the last to go you took care of your siblings from the very first day of their lives and you didn’t go home until each of them got there first I love you I have missed you for way to long I wish I had been able to come see you before you passed but I’ll see you when I get home rest easy and try not to get on anyone’s case to hard up there but keep um all straight lol tell my mom n everyone I love them n make room for me cause I’ll be coming home soon enough
