  1. Bob remembers Leo very well from the years at J.J. Leisure’s Restaurant with the “Breakfast Club”. Everyone got there in the early morning hours (by 5 am). Some people were there at 4 am. They would gossip and eat and also exchange Birthday cards. Leo will be sadly missed by our Community. We are very sorry to hear of his passing.

  2. Mary, we were shocked to read of Leo’s passing. I always looked forward to seeing you both once a year and miss seeing you. Leo was such a good guy with a twinkle in his eye and I think he enjoyed teasing me a little. But he surely is in Heaven now. I have no doubts. We are so sorry for your loss and we will keep you in our prayers. Love, Marilynn and Brax Middleton

  3. Dear Mary, So sorry to learn of Leo’s death. We’re away in Indiana for Charlie’s family reunion. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. May God bless you with Comfort and Peace. Charlie and Barbara Bland

  4. Hello Mary, So very sorry to hear of your brother’s passing. I’m not in the Conesus area right now or I would sing in the choir and attend the funeral. My youngest daughter, Miriam, is starting her first job as a school counselor in Milford NY, in the Catskills. My mom and dad, Gertie and Everett, talked of you both fondly and really enjoyed your visits at the lake. I would love to get together with you sometime to hear of your days in Switzerland and learn more about your brother. I retired from LCS 3 years ago and live on Marrowback Rd. near Linda Reuther’s house where my father was raised. God bless you and your brother, Mary. You are in my thought and prayers. You can reach me at 585-314-3571.??

  5. Leo, or as I have always known him “Uncle Leo”, will be dearly missed. He was one of my father’s ( Aldo Burroni) first friends here in America. My father met Leo while working at Itek as a welder. I believe Leo admired my father’s story because it was so close to his own, coming to America from Europe in hopes of a better life for him and his family. They quickly became good friends and as I child I remember meeting Leo for the first time in the parking lot of Itek, he had life saver candies for us kids. From that day forward Leo always had life saver candies for us kids. We lived in the city of Rochester growing up, a frequent road trip for our family was to travel to “the country” to go visit with Leo & Mary. There we walked the pastures with the cows, we fed the chickens, we played on the hay bales and we rode on the very big John Deere tractors. It was an experience for us as children that we will never forget. I write this to express my gratitude for the influence Leo had on my life. He was always a gentle, kind soul who always had a story to tell. I learned a lot from him including the value of working hard and I will be eternally grateful for having him in my life. In my adult life we didn’t see each other much but when I did see him it was as if I was a young girl, “Rosalie!!!” he would say. Thank you Leo, for all the memories, your voice and your smile will be forever embedded in my heart.

Mary aka “Aunt Mary”, my thoughts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time. Love always, Rosie
