Livonia: June 27, 2015 at age 91 years. Predeceased by her first husband Victor Alford and her second husband Henry “Hank” Swager, daughter and son-in-law Bonnie & Wayne Sparks, siblings; Albert and Wayne Benson, and Ruby Harrington. Survived by children; Patty (Max) DuBois of FL, Judy (Bill) Young of East Rochester, David (Pam) Alford of Avon, Sandra Allen of PA, and Vic (Jean) Alford of Bloomfield. Brothers; Bill (Jean) Benson of Livonia and Kenny (Jean) Benson of Lima. Sister; Ruth (Willard) Tucker. Special granddaughter Sheri (Mike) Morrison of Rochester, many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

Marion was born on December 25, 1923 in Pennsylvania, to Homer and Lela Benson.

Marion loved to play cards, especially euchre. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing needlework projects. Marion ventured to Nascar races with family to cheer for her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon.

Marion belonged to the Lions Club in Livonia.

Throughout her life she was always looking for ways to help others. Marion was a supporter of the Special Olympics. Marion also devoted herself to volunteering in the Grandparents program at both Geneseo Central and Livonia Central.

Friends may call on Tuesday, June 30th, from 4-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rtes 15 & 20A, Livonia, where services will be held on Wednesday at 4pm. Private interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Geneseo, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Conesus Lake Nursing Home, Activity Fund, 6131 Big Tree Road, Livonia, NY 14487.
