John R. Washburn “Jack” – March 13, 2018

Honeoye: Peacefully on March 13, 2018 at age 82. Predeceased by his parents Murray & Pauline Washburn and siblings; Irene Blair, Lester Washburn, and Charles Washburn. Survived by his wife of 47 years, Joanne (Huber) Washburn and children; Joseph (Danielle) Washburn of Bristol, Raymond (Cory) Washburn of Bristol, and Amy Washburn (Peter Bonnar) of Marlboro, NY; grandchildren; Daniel, Jenifer, April, Hailey, Chance, Landon, Dylan, Emma, and Adalia. Also survived by his sister Shirley Lanphear, several nieces & nephews and dear friends.

Jack was born on April 4, 1935 in Richmond, NY to parents Murray and Pauline Washburn. He served his country in the US Army from 1955-1957. Jack married his wife Joanne on May 14, 1971 and they celebrated 47 years of marriage. He retired from the Town of Richmond Highway Department, loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports, had a love of animals, and enjoyed playing cards with friends.

Family and friends may call on Friday, March 16th, from 5-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 8624 Main Street, Rte 20A, Honeoye, NY where Jack’s service will follow calling hours at 7pm. Private family burial Lakeview Cemetery, Honeoye. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Richmond Fire Department, PO Box 469, Honeoye, NY 14471.   4. Very sorry to hear of Jack’s passing. Our family lived across the road from the Washburn homestead for many years and spent many nites at Pauline and Murray’s home. Always hard to lose a loved one but I’m sure you have many memories to share.
