Soledad C. (Loayza) Tewksbury ~ January 7, 2024

Livonia: At age 79, Sole passed away on January 7, 2024. She was born on February 13, 1944 to the late Jose and Angelica Loayza. Survived by her sons; David Tewksbury Jr. of Livonia, NY, John (Tomomi) Tewksbury of Livonia, NY, daughter; Cristina (David) Rowley of Hemlock, NY, sisters; Rosa (John) Heuvelman of Arizona, Amparo (Jorge) Cateriano of Peru, grandchildren; Kiera, Patrick, Alexander, Michelle, Alberto, Christian and Angela. Sole was predeceased by her husband; David L. Tewksbury Sr.

Soledad grew up in Arequipa, Peru. She was extremely proud of her heritage, and her home city. Her extraordinary beauty and sense of style was only exceeded by her unmatched work ethic and fierce sense of independence. Upon moving to the United
States, Soledad immediately took two jobs and excelled at both of them. She spent over 40 years providing care and comfort to residents of the Conesus Lake Nursing Home. Her kindness and dedication to her patients will long be remembered by their families.

Soledad left an impression on everyone who met her, radiating elegance, charm, and kindness. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

Family and friends may call on Friday, January 19th, from 4-7 pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. Routes 15 & 20A, 21 Big Tree Street, Livonia, NY. Sole’s Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 20th, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road, Rte 20A, Livonia, NY. Burial
will be held privately.

  3. Sole was so helpful when we came for Service every week. Not just the patients,but also with Pastor Nathaniel and I. I am sure she is peacefully at rest, as that is one consolation we can rely on.

  4. Don Mcquilkin and I want to express our condolences for Sole’s passing. As a friend of her sons, he remembers her as someone who was kind and always brought the families together. I had the privilege of meeting her and visited her home to see her amazing Christmas Decorations. She was a beautiful kind soul that impressed me deeply. May she rest in peace.

  10. Sole made the transition from home to nursing care as comfortable as possible with her loving and competent care. I will always be grateful to her for being there for my husband, Ray. I will miss her. My sincere condolences to David, Christina and Johnny.

  12. How very blessed I was to have known Sole. What was a woman to work with, talk with, laugh with, tell your deepest secret to, and most of all a woman to be respected for so many reasons. She will be missed and always loved.
