Honeoye: At age 76, Jean passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She is predeceased by her husband Robert E. Blair and her daughter-in-law; Jennifer Soback. Survived by her children; Mark Soback, Michael Deuel and Darlene Bateman, her best friend and brother; Butchie (Debra) Soback, her siblings; Betty (Gerald) Jackson, Ellen Chapman, Eric (Leah) Soback, her grandchildren; Jessica, Nicolas, Brittany, Coty, Amber, Karla and Melina, her 10 great-grandchildren and many other loving family and friends.
Interment will take place at 11AM on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at West Bloomfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 1278: 4931 Co Rd 36, Honeoye, NY 14471 or to the American Cancer Society: 1120 S Goodman St, Rochester, NY 14620. Jean is/was the mother of my nephew Mike and Niece Darlene from when she was married to my brother, Howard Deuel, who died in 2000.
I always liked Jean. It’s too bad that my brother was so mean, selfish, two-faced and vindictive. I never saw her again, once they divorced, but I didn’t see him that much, either.
My condolences to Mark, Mike and Darlene… and to the rest of Jean’s family. I know that Jean was a good hearted woman and that she’ll be missed.
