Karen E. Tyler ~ May 20, 2022

Karen Elizabeth Tyler, 46, of Canandaigua, NY, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2022, after a prolonged illness.

Karen was born Nov. 8, 1975 in Bensalem, Pa. to William and Elizabeth Tyler.  She graduated in 1994 from George Washington High School in Philadelphia.  She was a long time member of Honeoye United Church of Christ and for the past 26 years was a client at the Ontario ARC.

Karen was strong of spirit and full of love for her family and friends.  A beloved daughter, sister, niece and cousin.  Karen was particularly a proud aunt to her nephew, Miles, who was one of her favorite people in the world.

Family was very important to Karen—she never missed a family reunion where you could find her surrounded by children and pets who were drawn to her sweet nature.  A long-time Philadelphia Phillies fan, Karen was an animal lover and always had dogs in her life.  She also loved (in no particular order) Amazon Prime, The Hallmark channel, Candy Crush, Tastykake chocolate cupcakes, Mexican dominos game and butterflies.

Karen was a warrior who never gave up, rarely complained and always had a smile and a hug for those who loved her.  Her family and friends will miss her sense of humor, her beautiful smile and aura, and her eternal optimism and hope.  She will be thought of often for her kindness and grace and we’ll always be thankful for the gift Karen was to our lives.

In addition to her parents and nephew Miles Tyler, she is survived by her brother, Michael Tyler and sister-in-law Jennifer (Downey) Tyler of Willow Grove, Pa; and her many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the Honeoye United Church of Christ, 8758 Main Street in Honeoye, NY. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home in Honeoye.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Honeoye UCC; 8758 Main Street, Honeoye, NY. 14471, to the Hospeace House in Naples, P.O. Box 343, 7824 County Rd 33, Naples, N.Y. 14512 or to the Ontario ARC, 3071 County Complex Drive, Canandaigua, N.Y. 14424.
