Mary “Louise” Boyd “Gram” ~ May 13, 2022

Honeoye: At age 79, Louise passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Highland Hospital on Rochester, NY.  Louise is predeceased by her children; Lawrence “Larry” Boyd and Jackie White, and her brother Tom Gendreau. Survived by her daughter; Cindy Boyd, and her grandsons; Kevin (Cassidy) Roelofs, and Matthew (Amanda) Roelofs, along with her great-grandsons; Finn and Oliver Roelofs.

Louise attended and graduated from Honeoye Central School in 1961.  She raised her family in Honeoye and had many friends in the community.  Louise loved her family and taking golf cart rides in the park.  She loved the Buffalo Bills, all animals, and helping others, she was known as “Gram” to many.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, May 21st, at Lakeview Cemetery, County Road 36, Honeoye, NY.  Following the service at the cemetery there will be a Celebration of Life Gathering at the Honeoye-Hemlock American Legion Post, Honeoye, NY until 5pm.   Even if you are not able to make the service please know all are welcome at the gathering at the legion.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Happy Tails Animal Shelter, 2976 County Road 48, Canandaigua, NY 14424.  To share a memory or a condolence, please visit: www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

    We are so sorry.for the loss of your mother, Louise. We loved living next door and sitting in on the bonfires. Watching the kids all play and swimming in the pool. You and your Mom gave alot of happy memories to your boys and to every one who was in the glow of your family.
    We love you so much and are praying for the peace that comes with knowing you were a wonderful daughter. May God bless you.

  3. Ma Boyd was so loved and was so kind to everyone who knew her. She will be missed by so many. We all have so many great memories of her to share. Sending my condolences to her entire family.

  7. Weezy was a wonderful second mom to me growing up! I will miss her dry sense of humor and welcoming hugs. Praise our Heavenly Father that she is reunited with Larry and Jackie, and I ask for peace for Cindy and her family., knowing Weezy is at rest.

  9. We all loved you so much. You will be greatly missed ! We shared so many special times together thru the years as families. The most recent special time was last Thanksgiving . Our immediate family was sick with Covid and you invited us in with open arms . It was such a special day for us .
    Thank you for sharing your love and always being there . Memories of you will always be in our hearts and will be shared together.

  10. There is not much one can say when you loose a loved one. You will feel the empty space for a time. Then in your next breath you smell them, you feel a warmth on your shoulders or you see the same kind of butterfly next to you everyday. It is those little things that is the way they say “I’m here”
