Matthew E. Faulkenberry – April 23, 2021

Conesus, NY:  Unexpectedly on April 23, 2021 at age 22.  Survived by his parents Luke and Kimberly (Edgar) Faulkenberry of Conesus; brother Aaron Faulkenberry (Brianna Herron); grandparents, Stephen and Marcia Faulkenberry of Conesus and Clair and Linda Edgar of Fairport; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also survived by the love of his life Madi Dorey, her caring family, and many dear friends.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, April 29th, from 4-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 15 & 20A, Livonia, NY.  Matthew’s Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Friday, April 30th, at Christ Community Church, 26 Center Street, Geneseo, NY 14454.  Burial to follow at Arnold Cemetery, Conesus, NY.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Matthew’s memory to Christ Community Church at the address above and earmarked for Young Life, which is a ministry for middle and high school students or C4Life, which is a ministry for college students.  To send a condolence or share a memory please visit:  www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

  1. Word of Matt’s death just reached the Computer Science Department at the U of R, where he had been on track to graduate next May. We are all shocked and saddened by the news. Our hearts go out to family and friends.

  3. Kimmy. I am so very sorrowful about your loss. You always spoke so highly about your 2 boys. They were into everything in school my children were involved with. I can not imagine how you are feeling, but my hope, with all the people around you, that you have the support you need.

Although I hadn’t seen him in years, I have very fond memories of him when he was attending Genesee Country Christian School with my daughters. To Matthew’s family and close friends, my heart grieves with you and for you. I offer the only thing I am able, which is to lift you up in prayer.   9. I had the pleasure of having both Matthew and Madi as students when I taught 7th grade English as a long-term substitute teacher at Livonia. Matthew was such an intelligent, thoughtful, and helpful student and I am so sad to hear of his passing. While I did not know Matthew for a long time, he left such a positive impression on me and was a truly wonderful young man. My thoughts are with your family, as well as Madi, during this incredibly difficult time.

  10. Being a grade below him, I didn’t know Matt too well in high school. We did share some classes though, and he always made me feel like I was his best friend every time. Praying for you all.
