Honeoye: Frederick J. “Fred” Colby, 71 years, of Gullick Road, Honeoye, NY died suddenly, Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Buffalo, NY, May 17, 1939, the son of Frederick J. and Grace Phillips Colby. Fred was a member of St. Marys Church, Honeoye, Honeoye Garden Club, and the Honeoye Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed and was an avid fisherman, hunter and boater. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the New York State Department of Tax and Finance.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Brock Colby; his daughter, Charlene Flieger of Honeoye. Grandchildren, Bruce C. Flieger and Carlotta A.M. Knapp of Honeoye. Brother, James (Donna) Colby of Newport Richey, Florida. Several cousins including, William J. (Barbara) Krellner of Buffalo. Several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass, Saturday, October 9, 2010, 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church Route 20A Honeoye, with the Rev. John H. Hayes and Deacon Roger Loomis officiating.
