George D. Hornung ~ March 2, 2021

Honeoye:  At age 78, George passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.  He was born in Buffalo, NY to the late George and Betty Hornung.  George is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years; Roe Hornung, his children; Ronald (Kathleen) McAuley, Robbie (James Weber) Duvall, his sisters; Cheryl (David Grotke) Danzer, Wendy (Samuel) Battles, Dawn Goran, his grandchildren; Matthew McAuley, Amanda (Phoenix) Schrimshaw, Tisha (Theodore) Parks, Tommy Crowley, and his great grandchildren; Kaleb, Ethan, Ryan, and Jaxon, along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

George loved to take an active roll in his community; he is a lifelong member of the Richmond Fire Department, a member of the Canadice Methodist Church, The Shriner’s Damascus Shrine Center in Webster, NY, The Mason’s Eagle Lodge 619 in Honeoye, NY, The Mason’s Inspiration Lodge 109 in Webster, NY, and The Order of the Eastern Star’s Eagle Star Chapter 350 in Honeoye, NY.  George will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2PM at the Canadice Methodist Church, 5949 Canadice Hill Rd in Canadice, NY.  Interment will immediately follow George’s memorial service at Canadice Corners Hill Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions can be made to Richmond Fire and Ambulance, PO Box 469, Honeoye, NY  14471.  To share a memory or a condolence, please visit:  www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

    You and Butch have been such good neighbors of Mom & Dad and Brian for so many years. I always appreciated the two of you dropping off Mom’s paper to her.

  3. (MRS) Roe, Words simply CANNOT express the sorrowful feelings that Marilyn & I have at learning the news of Georges’ passing. I had to READ about it in the Penny Saver and was never notified BY Eagle 619. When I found out, it was too late to visit / attend the interment WE pray for you and your entire family in this time of grief. GOD will see that you survive and recover.
