Livonia, NY:  Devoted family man William Henry Reno, 92, passed away at his home January 2, 2021 with his daughters by his side.  Predeceased by his eternal companion, Virginia Nell Reno (Fulmer) and his daughter Linda V. Ramirez, and his grandson Adrian B. Ramirez.

Bill was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on February 5, 1928. He graduated Lowell High School in 1945 and earned a degree in accounting in 1953 from Bentleys Business College. He also attended Northeastern University and Merrimack college. He enjoyed his long career of 47 years with the New England Electric Company. He started as a meter reader and then become an accountant in the finance department.

He served in the Navy during the Korean war on the icebreaker Atka. While in the Navy he met his sweetheart at a YMCA dance in Charlestown, Mass. They married in 1953 and were together for 64 years.

One of his proudest accomplishments was reconstructing his home in Grafton, Mass. Through expert workmanship and self taught skills he made a beautiful custom designed home for his family.

He loved to garden ever since he had a summer job at a nearby farm as a boy. He instilled in his family a love of nature through camping trips, fishing, hiking and caving. He was a member of the Boston Grotto and explored many caves and caverns in the New England area and in the southern US. His love of learning was a great example to us and he was an avid reader.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, he has a testimony that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and has taught his family these truths. With abiding faith in the Lord Jesus Christ he will continue his journey with Him and his loved ones beyond the veil.

We will gather as a family to honor his life, his example and his selfless service to each of us. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Virginia at 2pm on Friday, January 8th, at Union Cemetery, Big Tree Road, Livonia, NY.  To send a condolence or share a memory please visit: www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com
