Barbara E. Smith (Richardson) – December 18, 2020

Livonia/Andover:  At age 83, Barbara E. Smith passed peacefully on December 18, 2020.  She was born on November 8, 1937 to the late Alonzo and Dorothy (Perkins) Richardson.  She was also predeceased by her husband Robert W. Smith Sr., brothers; Kenneth, Lynn, and George Richardson, and her sister Neva Perkins.  Survived by her children; Cindy (Rick) Keating, Robert (Lisa) Smith, Elaine (James) Figueroa, Marilyn (John) Ernst, Richard (Denise) Smith, Tammy Smith, and Robbie (Natalie) Smith; 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; her brother; Larry (Mary) Richardson, her sisters;  Rose Marie (Greg) Roland, Janice (Charles) Vorndran, and Louise Barnhardt; sisters-in-law, Joyce Richardson and Fran Richardson; and many nieces & nephews.

Barbara retired from Eastman Kodak several years ago, where she did production work. Barb was a very devoted Mother and Grandmother. She enjoyed playing euchre, doing puzzles, and loved being with her family and friends.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her dog Mary.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Route 20a at Exit 8, Geneseo, NY.  All are welcome and guidelines regarding social distancing and masks will be followed.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1120 South Goodman Street, Rochester, NY 14620 or to SusieQ Dog ResQ, PO Box 236, Conesus, NY 14435.  To send a condolence or share a memory please visit:  www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

  1. GG you were full of stories, experiences & knowledge that I absorbed eagerly. I’ll forever cherish the few years that my son had with you. Grandma sleep well & kiss Grandpa for is all.

    But the time we spent with you was very nice we had a nice conversation one night about family and life tribulations pains we had suffered in our lives and love we have for our children you will for sure be missed and forever remembered as our funny lady

  3. I will forever wish I got to spend more time with you. I have fond memories of your enduring sense of humor during tough times though, which I will hold dear through this life. May you be at peace now with Grandpa.

  4. Remembering the lovely dinner we all had together just two years ago , when we came up too New York from Texas , Aunt Louis, Billy, Melissa, Jim and Max and myself ,So glad Max got to meet you. May you rest in eternal peace. You will be missed by so many who love you. Your Forever in our hearts.
