Margaret M. Moran “Peg” ~ February 5, 2020

Livonia/Conesus Lake:  At age 87, Peg passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Highland Hospital. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Elizabeth Gill, her brother and sister Thomas Gill and Ruth Cartier, and grandson Casey Moran.  Survived by her sons, Tom (Kim), Shawn, Brian (Wendy), Pat (Melissa); grandchildren, Brenden, Shane, Katie (Balcerzak), Megan, Riley, Bailey, Haley, and Jameson, and 8 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mary, Claire, Rita, and Patsy, along with many friends and fellow bingo players.

Nanna’s greatest joy was being with her family she was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, as loyal as they come. It wasn’t uncommon for her to give a referee a hard time for a bad call against one of her boys at a football game.  Nanna loved sitting with her sister Patsy looking out the window at the ducks swimming on Conesus Lake.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 2-5pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 15 & 20A, Livonia, NY. Peg’s funeral mass will be held at 10:30am on Monday, February 10, 2020, at St. Matthew’s Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road, Rte 20A, Livonia. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, South Livonia, NY.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 25 Circle St., Rochester, NY 14607.     So so sorry to hear about your Mom. Peg was very special to our family. I have many memories of our families together when we were younger and then later when I would be home for the summer – Peg and my mom sharing many laughs together.   5. Dear Moran Family: so sorry to hear about Peg’s passing. My mom, Marian Wander, and Peg had many happy times together at Conesus Lake. Mom always loved her appointment/errand adventures and being Peg’s co-pilot! (“What happened in Peg’s car STAYED in Peg’s car”). I will always remember Peg’s beautiful smile, especially when she proudly spoke of her family!

    At one time we were all part of tbe Big Tree Street gang growing up. What friends we all were. Loved Peg’s laugh. Gus and Peg made quite the pair. I don’t know how she stood being in a household of males but she ruled the roost. Condolences to the family. She will be missed.

Please please accept my sincere condolences to all of you from an ex Moran who loved her. I am so sorry, truly.

    Our hearts were saddened to learn of mom’s passing …our love and sympathy go out to you all! I can’t help but think Peg is in a much better place and from talking with her, she was ready for that journey home.
    David and I have some great memories of those years we lived next to you all. Peg was like our second mom …she welcomed us with open arms to Livonia !! And who can ever forget those twinkling Irish eyes and that smile that could warm your heart ! She was there to “grandmother” our sons Mike and Shawn and I always knew I could count on Peg to comfort me in hard times, make me laugh, and be there to help in any way she could!!
    She loved each of you boys in a special way ! Her legacy lives on in each of you in so many ways …hold on to that part of her in your hearts always. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!

  14. Moran Brothers and Family, I dont think I could of made it through High school with out the Love and support from Peg. also a kick in the butt at times. She always wanted to know how I was doing…Really Doing. I always felt at Home with Her no matter where we were. My heart goes out to you all, hoping for Peace and comfort in this time of Mourning.

  27. Very sorry to hear about Mrs.Moran. I always enjoyed chatting with her, whenever I saw her. She was a neighbor just down the street when I was growing up. To Tom, Shawn, Brian, Patrick, & families, I am very sorry for your loss.
