Carolyn P. Clancy (Petteys) “Kay” ~ November 11, 2017

Livonia/Arkport:  November 11, 2017 at age 81 years. Predeceased by her parents Ellis and Nina (Gruber) Petteys and her siblings, Donald and Richard Petteys & Marie (Petteys) Schenk.  Survived by her husband of 63 years Albert “Bud” Clancy and children; Albert (Laureen) Clancy of FL and Cathy Clancy of WV; grandchildren, Patricia (Scott) Royals, Matthew (Katie) Clancy, Kari Clancy, and Clara Drake; great-grandchildren, Leighton and Liam Royals, Grayson and Aiden Clancy, and many other loving family & friends.

Kay was born on October 28, 1936 in Hornell, NY to parents Ellis & Nina Petteys.  She attended and graduated from Canaseraga High School.  In 1954 she married Albert “Bud” Clancy and this year they marked 63 years of marriage.  Kay was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She and Bud raised their family in Livonia where Kay also worked at the Livonia School District, Fisher’s Clothing Store, and West’s Grocery Store.  Kay was a resident at the Livingston County CNR for the past six years as she struggled with dementia.  She was well loved by the kind and caring staff and the family is eternally grateful.

Friends may call on Saturday, November 18th, from 1-3pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 15 & 20a, Livonia, where her memorial service will be held following calling hours at 3pm.  Burial will be held privately by the family at Canaseraga Cemetery, Canaseraga, NY.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 E.     Very sorry to hear about Kay. She and Bud were great friends to my late parents Harry and Millie Moran. Al was a great friend to my Dad Harry. I know my Dad treasured his friendship with all the Clancy’s. He always enjoyed talking about trains to Al. To Cathy who has been a good basketball/baseball friend, my condolences.
